Information asymmetry exists in every market. We know things our customers don’t. We understand aspects of our industry they can’t see.
The opportunity isn’t in selfishly protecting this knowledge and treating it as a secret weapon. The opportunity is to use it to create more value. To solve problems others don’t see, and to build solutions others can’t imagine.
This means going beyond just having information to applying it meaningfully and using our expertise not to create dependency, but to enable better choices and to help others see something they couldn’t see before.
It is a trap to think that we have an advantage by knowing more than others. The real advantage is in using what we know to help them make better decisions.
Let’s not focus on maintaining information advantage, but on how to use what we know to create more value for those we serve.
