- There’s still big uncertainty in our work as animal advocates, so we must keep exploring new ideas and going to the edges
- Factory farming is a complex problem without an easy or unique way to solve it, so we need collaboration, diversity, and long-term thinking
- We’re all in this together. Ideas need to be shared, strategies need to be clear and spoken, and tactics need to be effective in supporting our strategy
- We need to be patient without being patient. This is a long battle, the animals need us to act now, be resilient, not give up, and at the same time understand that change is happening slowly
- There’s still a lot we don’t know. We need to keep interacting, learning, adjusting, and trying things that might not work
- Old tactics that have worked in the past might not be working the same way now so we need to keep questioning our work and keeping an open mind
- We’re pioneers and early adopters, and we’re evolving. Part of our work is to get a better understanding of our solutions and the systems we fight
- This is the most serious matter of our time so we need to get real about the stakes and continue working with ever more commitment
- We need more partnerships and coalitions, to share and criticise our approaches proactively, and to find new opportunities for action together
- We must strive to create remarkable work, to stand out with empathy, to develop strong communities that amplify our message
