Anticipate Resistance

Can we identify those who might feel challenged by our mission and our strategy?

Understanding who might resist or oppose our work helps us navigate potential obstacles and build necessary alliances.

Some will feel threatened by our vision of change, others by our approach, some by the attention we receive, and others by the status quo we challenge.

We shouldn’t focus our efforts on them, but we don’t need to avoid them entirely, why? It’s important to understand their perspective and motivations, anticipate potential points of friction, find potential bridges where interests might align, and decide which battles are worth fighting.

Meaningful change always creates resistance from those invested in current systems – and knowing this in advance is the first step in addressing it effectively.
