Sometimes we turn problems into a zone of comfort. A precious possession that stops us from looking for solutions.
We make them personal, keep them private, and think about them often. Eventually, we just don’t own those problems but we protect them and use them as excuses not to move forward.
And when one problem isn’t enough to keep us stuck, we can always add another one just like it.
The real problem is that this behaviour makes us stop looking for opportunities to create change. It stops us from finding new ways to engage, building bridges where possible, and maintaining hope by proactively working with the communities that need us to show up.
