Playing it Safe

We often minimise and even hide our message to avoid criticism.

Diminish our purpose to seem reasonable and avoid discussion.

Mask our true values to fit in.

This careful but selfish avoidance of standing out means trading our potential impact for comfortable, meaningless acceptance, trading what could be significantly transformational for what feels safe.

But the bigger risk isn’t in being bold and standing up for our true values but in hiding ourselves to the point that we become invisible to those who need our light, help, and service.

Perhaps playing it safe is the riskiest choice of all.
