When we embark on an ethical vegan business, we disrupt the status quo. We take customers from evil big corporations and change society for the better at the same time.
It is not happening at a rate fast enough to make a more significant impact for the animals and the planet, but it’s happening as you read this. More and more vegans are creating, innovating and being active in this process. And we need more people to be brave and join the vegan business movement.
There are big challenges but there are also big opportunities. For us, success is not more money; it is more meaning and cultural change. All the voices are valuable. There’s someone out there eager to hear from you, to follow you, and tell others about what you do.
We must remember, though, that profitability is crucial. We need you to have a healthy business so you can remain around and continue providing us with the products and services you have created.
If you’re considering starting a vegan business, the first question is not ‘How do I start a business?’ It is more ‘What would matter here?’ and ‘Who do I want to serve and what can I do for them?’
Innovation and marketing go hand-in-hand in this process. Every time we innovate, every time we create a marketing interaction the culture changes. Someone becomes more aware, kind, and conscious. We do activism. Let’s get out there and create something for the animals, for the planet, and for our children.
